Getting there
If you are coming from Europe (Madrid) or the States (Miami), the easiest way to get to Punta del Este is by air via the Carrasco International Airport in Montevideo, but beware, there is no public transport of repute from the airport, so it is wisest to arrange to rent a car. There is, however, a regular bus service from Montevideo City to Punta del Este that takes in the region of one and a half hours. Players coming from other regions are advised to fly to Buenos Aires and from there either catch a connecting flight, hydrofoil or ferry to Punta.
Getting Around
Punta del Este is actually a peninsula, so it is very easy to get around on foot but to get to La Barra, where the LAPT will be held, is not that easy – there is no public transport to talk of and taxis are very expensive, so a rental car is about the only feasible option.
