European Poker Tour Players, Gavin Griffin

Gavin Griffin may be a red hot poker player but he’s a real nice guy as well. He startled the crowds at the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo in 2007 when he arrived at the event with bright pink hair. The more staid in the crowd may have thought he was punk or really eccentric but he dyed his hair for a wonderful cause – to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Griffin came into Season 3’s Grand Final will quite a reputation – he became the youngest ever professional poker player to lift a coveted WSOP bracelet in 2004 at the age of 23.

He travelled to Europe for the first time ever as an online qualifier for the big event in Monte Carlo, and his patience and skill paid off when he walked away with a handsome share of the prize pool – €1 825 010, over $2.4 million! The win placed him on the top of the European Poker tour’s ‘All Time Money List’ – not bad for a man who only turned to poker in 2003. To date he has won over $4 million

He had to compete against 705 of the top players on the tour but he showed some awesome poker skills to bust some of the bigger names on the international poker circuit.
