European Poker Tour Players, Marc Karam

Marvellous Marc Karam has set the poker world alight by becoming the first professional poker player to hit the money stakes in five of the first six major tournaments he ever played in!

The 28 year old Canadian of Lebanese stock took a sabbatical from his daytime job as an apprentice to a glass and aluminium firm in 2006 after winning an entry to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure via online satellite – and he hasn’t looked back since!

Marc is fondly dubbed ‘Myst’ by his avid fans, which is short for Mysterio – it’s not the fact that he’s enigmatic, or something of a mystery, it is the name of his favourite professional wrestler, Rey Mysterio jnr.

His first outing at the Bahamas based WPT Caribbean Adventure saw him finish 37th and he pocketed the tidy sum of $13 500, surely enough to cover his costs and more, and from then on in it was one cash after another. To date he has won over $2 million at tables throughout the world.

His success is such that he was asked by Eurolinx Poker, a European poker and gaming site, to become part of their team of professional poker players who travel the world representing the company at the top international poker tournaments.

He is looking forward to the EPT Grand Final clash: “I’m not sure if I will be travelling to any tournaments in March, my next confirmed trip will be to Monte Carlo for the EPT Grand Final. It will be held from April 12th-17th and I’m really excited at taking my shot at making the final table for the 3rd year in a row!”
