Venue of the Aussie Millions, Crown Casino in Melbourne
The
Casino
The fabulous Crown
Casino in Melbourne is the largest casino in Australia and apart from
hosting the Aussie Millions Poker Tournament; it is a haven for some of the world’s
most scintillating entertainers.
“Paint the Town”
is its motto, and it has all the amenities and potential stars to do just that!
The casino itself is mind blowing – it stretches for over half a kilometre and
is the largest and most authentic casino south of the equator.
In an effort to offer punters the atmosphere that best suits them, the
casino includes a series of smaller, more intimate venues:
- The exclusive, sumptuously furnished Mahogany
Room is the sole territory of the fabulously wealthy and only high stakes
gaming is on offer. Chrystal
chandeliers, thick, luxurious woven rugs and a range of exquisite antiques add
to the style and finesse of the venue. - The
Teak Room too is highly sophisticated but the money outlay is not so large. It
offers privacy and comfort to all players. - The
Las Vegas Room is, as the name suggests, the area of bling, glitz and glamour and is
arguably one of the more popular areas of the casino.
The Hotels
The casino is in
great company, there are two stunning hotel complexes to choose from:
- The
opulent Crown Towers has raked in the awards for three
consecutive years winning the luxury accommodation category of the Victorian
Tourism Awards and in 2005 was inducted into the Victorian Tourism Awards Hall
of Fame! It consists of 482 elegant rooms, all with stunning views of either
the city of Melbourne or Port Philip Bay. The Towers boast a heated pool, rebound
ace tennis courts and a spa. - The Crown Promenade is ideal for those who have to be
concerned about the budget. There are 465 rooms including 18 studios and 3
suites, and all guest have access to The Deck Leisure Centre which encompasses
a sauna, gym, spa and 25m pool. The Mesh Restaurant and the Tonic Bar come
highly recommended.
Entertainment
The Crown offers a
range of entertainment and over the years it has showcased top entertainers
like Suzi Quatro, the Village People and Human Nature. The most recent addition to the entertainment area is
a lavish ballroom, The Palms at Crown, which has hosted some of the biggest
names in world entertainment – Elton
John, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Tom Jones.
