Russian Svetlana Gromenkova must be delighted that she moved from her Motherland to the United States about six years ago as she is now the proud owner of her first WSOP bracelet. She faced a formidable final table and one of the stars of the show, Van Nguyen was an early casualty in the final days of competition when she was knocked out in 14th place.

Event 16- $2000 Omaha Hi/Lo Split 8 or Better 551 entrants prize pool – $1 002 820

  7. Scott Clements – $36 232
  8. Alan Enciso – $28 684
  9. Jimmy Fricke – $21 135

Poker rookie, Andrew Brown, pulled off quite an upset in the heads up against Ted ‘the Suicide King’ Forrest. Brown, who claimed his maiden WSOP bracelet has only one other cash to his name but he still managed to outgun the experience of five time bracelet winner, 2007 WPT Bay 101 shooting Stars victor and the man who defeated none other than Erik Seidel and Chris Ferguson, amongst others, at the 2006 National Heads-Up Poker Championship! John Juanda (29th) and ‘Miami’ John Cernuto (31st) were some of the consummate pros who effectively ‘missed the cut’ of the final table by quite a long shot!
