Matthew Graham, from the gambling capitol of the world, Las Vegas, has been playing poker professionally since 2005 and he will be thrilled with the most acclaimed prize in poker, a WSOP bracelet, the first he has picked up thus far. Graham boasts several money finishes but his performance at the 2008 WSOP event 53 is by far his most valuable and it is his second triumph of the year – he finished first in the No Limit Holdem event at the 2008 World Poker Challenge! Runner-up Jean-Robert Bellande, aka Bobby Bellande will be slightly disappointed he did not go on to claim the title and the bracelet but he will be well pleased with his best money finish to date. Although he is still to win a big tour title, his best results include a 2nd place finish at the WPT’s Five Star World Poker Classic and a third place at the WSOP circuit event – the Rio Las Vegas Poker Tournament in 2005.
Early casualties included Hoyt Corkins (41st) who has recently pulled off a remarkable comeback to the professional poker circuit after a long lay-off, online poker specialist, Andy Bloch (79th) and the incomparable J C Tran (88th), WPT season 5 Player of the Year and winner of his first WSOP bracelet for his performance in the No Limit holdem event #49!.
